I have tried to avoid the makeup counters lately, I put myself on a little makeup ban a few weeks ago to try and save some money. I’m not going to lie, I am finding it super hard and don’t think that it will be lasting too much longer. Infact, the money that I am saving on makeup I am probably spending elsewhere, so it isn’t being too helpful. My mum seeing my struggles, treated me to this Eye Paint from L’Oreal. I honestly don’t tell her enough, but she is such a doll.
The Eye Paint’s are a nice size, not too bulky to hold but still full of product. The colour of this is so pretty, although it looks a lot darker in the pot, once applied the shimmer of the silver is perfect. It isn’t too in your face sparkly, not that I mind that in the least but sometimes it’s nice to have a bit more of a subtle sparkle.
This paint is so easy to apply, it has a nice creamy texture to it and is bold on the first layer. The wand is good if you want to cover the whole lid and blend out, but I have been using a separate thinner brush to create more of an eyeliner effect. It just means I can wear it more during the day instead of a full on smokey eye. Don’t get me wrong, if I get up early enough I love rocking a smokey eye but this rarely happens.
The formula of this dries to a powdery feel and stays on for such a long time too. It dries within seconds and once dry it just doesn’t budge. The good thing is that you don’t have to worry about smudging or fading, but it does mean you have to apply really quickly before it starts drying.
I am really impressed with this and would definitely invest in some more colours when the ban is over. I am absolutely loving L’Oreal’s new collections lately..erm hello Beauty and the Beast collection! I just need to hunt it down.
