My Favourite Halloween Films

favourite halloween films
I had a whole week of Halloween themed posts planned for last week, but I started to tidy my room, which led to me redecorating the whole thing and I also caught an awful cold which has pretty much wiped me out for the week. So I haven’t been able to do all of the posts that I wanted to, but hey sometimes life happens, there is always next year I suppose!

As I only like cute Halloween, I can’t really cope with horror movies. I have tried and tried, I just hate being scared. So I thought I would show you my favourite cutesy Halloween-ish films…

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Perfect Halloween film. This was always going to be in my selection, wasn’t it! Christmas film or Halloween film? I watch it for both. I remember the first time I watched it when I was little and I have watched it every year every since. I just find it so magical!

Edward Scissorhands
I always find myself watching this around Halloween. I adore this movie, it’s so eerily sweet. One of Tim Burton’s absolute best. The soundtrack is just brilliant too.

This was one of the first ‘spooky’ films I watched when I was younger. I would always shout at anyone for saying ‘Beetlejuice’ 3 times incase he appeared.

Such a classic.  Stay Puft is just my favourite thing in the world and this film is perfect if you are having a cosy, snuggle on the sofa Halloween.

Shaun of the Dead
There was a time that I could probably repeat this film word for word, me and Lewis watched it that much. I still find it as funny as the first time I watched it. It is definitely as gory as I get though and even then it freaked me out a little at first, ridiculous I know!
I will probably spend this afternoon watching all of these films, wrapped up in a blanket, trying to get rid this cold.
How are you spending your Sunday, are you doing anything Halloweeny?

I have to ask your thoughts on the new Ghostbusters since you listed the original one as one of your favorites. (: These are some great movie choices. I say Nightmare Before Christmas as well but have had people argue that it's a Christmas movie. I can like what I like! (:

Funnily enough I haven't actually seen the new Ghostbusters! 🙁 I kept meaning to go but I never got round to it, so I am saving it to watch on a cosy evening in. What did you think of it? 🙂 Oh I know what you mean, I class it as both though, so it means I get to watch it for both occasions ha!

So many of your Halloween movies are also my favourite too! Beetlejuice, TNBC and Edward Scissorhands are just amazing and will always be in my favourites for Halloween 🙂 I love any excuse to watch TNBC so it's for Halloween & Christmas for me!

Edward Scissorhands is just a lovely movie. I love all the eerie imagery and I think Edward is just adorable :3 Awww how cute about you shouting Beetlejuice at people XD I always quote Shaun of the Dead by saying 'you got red on you' whenever anyone I know is wearing something red haha I'm always surprised by how many people don't know what I'm referencing though!
