Kiko Sparkling Trail Eyeshadow Pencil - Sensual Burgundy + Power Blue

Kiko Sparkling Trail Eyeshadow Pencil

I have read so many things about Kiko Cosmetics before, but have never really had the chance to try them out. As one of their stores has recently opened up near me, I thought it would be rude not to investigate. After swatching everything I could possibly fit onto my hands, I left with 2 sparkling Trail Eyeshadow pencils in 'Sensual Burgundy' and 'Power Blue'.

I couldn't have really picked 2 more different shades here could I?! I did actually buy the blue for my mum, but thought I would borrow it. I think she's used to getting makeup given to her that I have tried first. 'Cause I'm such a nice daughter, she doesn't mind though.

Both of these shades have the same texture, but couldn't look more different. Shade 03 (Sensual Burgundy) is a really soft metallic berry colour and shade 05 (Power Blue) is the sparkliest cobalt blue ever! The blue just oozes glitter, whilst the burgundy is a lot more subtle.

Like a lot of eyeshadow pencils, they are quite chunky to hold which makes it a little difficult to create a perfect flick. But I got there in the end...

I decided to combine both shades to see how they worked together. Both are super creamy to apply and don't drag at all. I used a brush to smudge the burgundy out and it worked perfectly before setting a few seconds later. They are so easy to layer too, the blue went on without affecting the burgundy base at all.

I'm pleasantly surprised by these pencils, I wasn't expecting them to be bad or anything, but they are better than I thought they would be. The staying power is spot on and I don't have to worry about my eyes smudging at all! I love both of these shades and I think I may invest in some more. I'm actually a bit gutted that the blue is for my mum, I think I will be nicking it from her makeup bag very soon!

  2. These are actually beautiful! Love how shimmery and metallic they are. The look you created is gorgeous as well. I've dabbled in Kiko products here and there and what I've tried I've really loved and enjoyed! Wish there was an Edinburgh store, ordering online sucks since it takes a while to get here as it's all from Italy :(
