I have been looking for a new foundation for a very long time but to be completely honest I didn’t know where to start. I am not the best when it comes to formulas, matching colours or textures but always hear and see such good things about Estée Lauder Double Wear that I thought I would give it a go and see how I get on.
The foundation is packaged in a small glass jar which looks pretty on my side placed with my other make up but is super hard to actually get the liquid out of. You either get the tiniest amount or it gushes out everywhere. Cue magical pump I found on eBay here
, problem solved! You’re welcome ha.
I went to my local Estée Lauder counter in John Lewis to get matched up. I would highly recommend being matched if you are a bit rubbish at shades like me as it makes the whole process less confusing. I would love to be able to do it myself, but sometimes I think a colour looks great and get home to see that it is completely off. Eventually I left with shade 3N1 Ivory Beige.
The formula of this is perfect for my skin. It doesn’t have a greasy feel to it and it doesn’t dry out either. Like the story of goldilocks, this foundation is just right! This dries pretty quickly once you start to apply, but you still have a good amount of time to manoeuvre before it does dry completely.
I have been wearing MAC Studio Sculpt for an awfully long time as I thought it was the right foundation for my skin but turns out I was wrong and this was actually drying out my skin more. Now I can see the difference and what my foundation should look like, I am a true convert to Double Wear. ♥
