I have definitely blogged about this zoo a good few times before. I am so lucky that I only live half an hour away, so don’t have to travel too far for a good day out. The zoo is one of my favourite places to go, I think as I went so much as a child I just get flooded with happy memories. Don’t get me wrong the best place for an animal is in the wild, but the work that this zoo and London Zoo do for the conservation of animals is just amazing. So I am more than happy to buy a ticket here knowing that it is being put back into a good place and I am contributing to helping wildlife (even if just a tiny bit).
As it was my mum’s birthday, we decided to take my nieces out for the day. I think she just wanted to go herself but used my nieces as an excuse! Here are some of my favourite pictures from the day…
Cheetah’s are one of my absolute favourite animals (I definitely say this about them all) but I just love their elegance and how cute they look.
Again, Elephant’s are one of my favourite animals! They are just so cute and I could stand there watching them for ages in my own little world.
My niece actually spotted this Bambi hiding away, it was my best Christmas card picture attempt!
The Rhino’s were so far away, but luckily I had my long lens. The are such unusual, amazing creatures.
What better time to have a Zebra selfie with my niece!
Reindeer are the best, I couldn’t resist singing Christmas songs whilst watching them. I told my niece they were walking around planning their Christmas route. Oh to be young again!
The Bear’s just look so cuddly, I don’t think that they would be though!
I felt as though these penguins treated this as a diving board ready to jump in!
Out of all of the times I have been to this zoo, this is the first time I have actually seen the Lynx. Oh my…
The Chimp’s always make me smile!
I love Otters!
So yeah, as you have probably guessed I am pretty much in love with all kinds of animal. I just love watching them and become mesmerised by them. We had the best day and can’t wait until we go again.
Have you ever been to Whipsnade? If not and you live locally, it is definitely worth a day out! ♥
