l'oreal miss manga mascara

I tend to wear a lot less make up when I go away on holiday. When it is hot the last thing that I ever want to do is slap foundation on my face so I tend to keep my make up a lot simpler. One thing that I will always wear without fail though is mascara. I brought L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara just before I went, the cute packaging and advertising definitely sold it to me. I was a bit unsure about taking a mascara I had never tried before on holiday with me but thought I would be a rebel and give it a go.

This mascara definitely grew on me throughout the holiday, at first I thought it was okay but the more I used it the more I liked it. I mean the packaging is metallic pink and black, so there was nothing not to love really. The wand has a mixture of different sized bristles that seem to catch all of the lashes and is nice and comfortable to hold.

I really like how thick my lashes become with this, although some might be put off as it can sometimes look on the clumpy side. I don't know if this is what L'Oreal mean by the 'manga effect' though, as a lot of eyelashes on manga characters tend to be stuck together slightly to emphasise the eyes. I found this mascara didn't provide much length, it just made the lashes chunkier which I find is perfect for a night out if you don't want to put on falsies or if you are incapable of putting them on like me.

I do find this slightly tricky to remove as it applies so thickly. It reminds me slightly of Benefit's 'They're Real' mascara in terms of removal but once you go over the eyes a few times with remover it eventually gives in and comes off.

Overall I do really like this mascara but I feel it doesn't have an 'OMG I need to buy this again' factor,  don't get me wrong it is a nice mascara but for me it is lacking something but I can't quite put my finger on what it is!

kings of leon - mechanical bull tour

On Sunday I went to see the amazing Kings of Leon at The National Bowl. I absolutely love KOL and the Bowl is not even a 10 minute drive from my house so it's a win-win situation, even though the weather was nice so we walked. It's safe to say that definitely doesn't take 10 minutes to walkand my legs felt like they were going to drop off!

I love The National Bowl as a venue and I really don't think it is utilised enough. I have seen Foo Fighters and Green Day here, but concerts happen rarely and there is always a good few months/years between each one. If the weather is nice you can spend a lovely day out, just sitting on the grass soaking up the atmosphere but even if it is raining the vibe is still great.

Kings of Leon were so good live, they played a mixture of old and new songs. Mainly new, but when they played their older stuff the crowd loved it, especially Lewis as he prefers their older material. Caleb's vocals were so good and he isn't bad to look at either! (lol) We didn't manage to get near the front and usually that means I see nothing but there was a slight gap in the crowd which meant I could see the stage, bonus!

This was one of my favourites on the night!

This has made me really want to go to a festival next year, so I suppose I better get planning!

holiday outfits

I am definitely not lying when I say that Lewis was the worst person for taking outfit photos on holiday. Usually he is really good with the camera, but this holiday he seemed to turn into one of those people who either cuts your head off or blurs the whole thing. I have managed to salvage 2 of my favourite outfits though to show you what I wore, well for 2 days at least!

Top: River Island
Skirt: Miss Selfridge
Necklace: Accessorize
Bag: Suite Blanco
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Top: River Island
Kimono: River Island
Shorts: South
Bag: Suite Blanco
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Now the sun is out here in the UK, hopefully I will be able to wear these outfits here too! *fingers crossed!*

fresh start

Monday morning I arrived back from the loveliest holiday in Lanzarote. I really had the most relaxing time and didn't want to come home. I always find that you don't realise how stressed you are until you can stop and take a moment to relax. I know it sounds cliché but I really do feel like a new me, I managed to sit back and really evaluate my life and different parts of it. That sounds like I had the deepest holiday ever, which I really didn't I just think sometimes theres nothing better than to put the headphones in, lay in the sun and think. (I will post more on this later!)

On a lighter note, I thought I would show you a few snappy snaps that I took!

The cutest port, I could have stood at the end and watched the sun set forever.

I love this lighthouse.

I loved the view, but not the weather in this picture. It does look worse than it was though!

If only everybody's gardens could look like this, the world would be a happier place!

Such a pretty church.

Our little holiday pal who sat outside our door and meowed until we let him in. His name is Goblin.

Photography through sunglass lenses.

THE BEST COCKTAIL GARNISH EVER!

I had the most amazing time, although I never realised how windy Lanzarote can be. We went to the beach one day and I turned to look at Lewis and gained a face full of sand..lovely! Not saying it was windy all of the time, but it was either windy or so humid that you actually missed the wind a little bit, there's no winning with me I suppose!

holiday times

Hello! So today I am going on holiday for 2 weeks, to say I'm excited is an understatement. This year has been rubbish and a getaway is much needed. I haven't scheduled any posts and I've decided that as soon as I get back I am going to focus on this blog a lot more, I feel I have neglected it slightly which makes me sad. So I promise more posts as soon as I am back!

You can still catch up on my twitter and instagram too which I'm sure will be updated with holiday bits.

Catch up soon!
