I am definitely suffering from a dose of the Christmas blues right now. I always feel this when the hype of Christmas dies down. I am all for keeping the tree up all year round, but unfortunately all of the sane people around me disagree. So in my desperate bid to hold on to the festive season, I took my photos on a Christmas background. After this post I will go back to a nice non-festive background…promise! Ha.
I brought this eyeshadow way before christmas and have fallen in love with it for its versatility and use it nearly everyday when I am keeping my makeup simple and shimmery. The packaging as usual with Bourjois is beautiful and compact, easy enough to throw in your handbag and top up when needed and the mirror within the lid is really handy too.

Extrait 01 is a lovely shimmery pale gold with a slight lemon tint to it. The glitter particles in this are good enough to notice, but not too in your face for everyday use. The colour comes across a lot warmer than it looks in the pan, at first I was slightly worried that it was going to be one of those bright pale colours that I really don’t suit but it sits a lot less in your face and less scary.

This shade is very buildable, on first application there is a subtle glitter, with a bit of a deeper colour showing through as it gets layered up. I personally apply this with my finger as whenever I use a brush it does tend to lose a lot of the glitter that makes it so special. The staying power of this is really good too as it manages to last a full shift at work before it makes an attempt to budge, lovely!

That's such a gorgeous colour. I've never tried a Bourjois product but you've really tempted me to try out some of their shadows.
    Happy New Year!! 🙂

I know I'm definitely wanting to try these out! Although I probably won't go for gold since it doesn't suit my skin type (definitely hoping for a silver!) this shade looks gorgeous on you! Hoping letting go of the Christmas decorations isn't too hard! There's always next year 😉
