pay day wishlist

It has literally felt like an eternity since I was last paid. Not that this month is going to mean I actually have money once I have been paid, but hey a girl can dream!

February is definitely a continuation of bills, bills, bills but if I do have any spare penniroos then I will definitely make the splurge on one of these items!

payday wishlist

Glitter Converse / Schuh // Aztec Cut Out Skater Dress / River Island // NARS duo eyeshadow 'Surabaya' / HQhair // Chunky Boots / Asos // Pink Shell Necklace / Tatty Devine // Maneater Lipstick / Illamasqua //
I absolutely want need all of these things. I have a bit of a Converse fetish anyway and these glittery ones are perfect for summer BBQs and picnics, especially teamed with the aztec dress. The shades in the NARS eyeshadow duo look right up my street for a sultry smokey eye too. I really love chunky boots but haven't been able to find any with buckles that I like, but I love these ones. I love Tatty Devine and this shell necklace is beautiful, it would definitely make me feel like a mermaid! A classic red lip is a favourite of mine and I am dying to try an Illamasqua lipstick too!
Now you can see why all of these items are needed, I just have to get saving!

beyoncé heat perfume review
Beyoncé heat perfume - £14.95 from Fragrance Direct

Seeing Beyoncé at the Grammys the other day, (How amazing did she look! *runs to the gym*) reminded me that I actually have this perfume. I am a sucker for using the same perfume each day, I get in the routine of a smell that I love and then carry on with that scent until I get bored and move onto the next one.

I got this perfume for Christmas and as it is a celebrity perfume I didn't have too high a hope for it. I can't stand the faux strawberry scent that a lot of these perfumes tend to have. When I actually opened it, I was pleasantly surprised as it is not a sweet scent but more of a musky tone. The bottle is really pretty with the shape very vintage looking and a lovely red gradient look to it.

The scent reminds me of vanilla musk to start with but as the musk wears off, a nice spiced orange scent starts to kick in, which is where I presume the name heat comes from..no flies on me clearly! I actually really like this, it has a bit more of a grown up scent than some other perfumes in this genre and it's not too expensive either! ♥

nails inc. best dressed nails set

As I missed this weeks Sunday nail post, I thought I would show you one of the nail sets that I received from Santa. I think this will more than make up for the nail shaped gap I left. I was eyeing up this set before Christmas as I love the versatility of it and as I have mentioned a good few times, I love a glitter.

The polishes that you get inside this set are..

Kings road - A cute rose coloured foil effect polish.
Regents Park - A red and black sprinkle effect polish, it reminds me slightly of a ladybird.
Old Street - A bright multi coloured glitter in strand and round flecks.
Westminster Bridge Road - A purple holo glitter, this is definitely one of my favourites.
Hampstead Court - Holographic strands, that looks good on it's own or layered on another shade.

The Best Dressed Nails set is a nice mixture of shades and I absolutely love it. Lots of the shades can either be layered on top of another colour or built upon itself for a bold glitter effect. I do prefer the glitters because I think the foil is a bit boring compared to the other textures, I find that it makes a nice alternative to nude though.

I am going for cocktails this Friday and am in need of a sparkly polish and I think this set ticks every box, my only problem is deciding which colour to use! This set is currently available for £10 on nails inc. here.

paul & joe creamy facial foam

A few weeks ago, I was browsing through ASOS and found this little gem in their sale. I needed a new makeup bag anyway and absolutely adore this one, so thought it was such a bonus when it came free with this facial foam.

I have been using this foam everyday since it arrived and I love it. It has a nice citrusy orange scent, without being too overpowering which I really like. You only need the smallest amount as it does build up quite a lather and feels really soft on the skin. My face feels really refreshed after and it doesn't affect my rosacea either which is such a bonus.

Considering that I mainly brought this for the cutest makeup bag in the world, I am really impressed with the foam too! This exact set is current out of stock on ASOS, but this little whale bag is just as cute!

l'oreal preference wild colour ombrés - red 6.66

loreal preference wild ombre review
loreal wild ombre red 6.66
loreal preference wild ombre swatch red

Every now and then I go through a stage where I want to dye my hair some random colour, but then I remember how dark my natural hair is and how scared of bleach I am that I give up. I saw an advert on the tellybox featuring l'oreal's new ombré collection and was immediately drawn to the shade wild red. I used the wild ombré dye before when I ombréd my hair originally and was so impressed that I thought I would give the red a go.

The actual set was really easy to use, I would advise someone helping you though as the back can be quite tricky to do, especially if you are after a straight dip. I got my mum to do this for me, luckily I leave my hair curly normally, so if it isn't perfectly straight you don't notice so much! The mixture is applied straight on to dry hair and left for 35 mins..easy peasy!

I must say I am so impressed with this! I applied it on top of my existing ombré which is why I think it went so vibrant. I decided to go slightly higher than my existing ombré to make sure it was fully covered and even the dark hair went quite red so I think this would even work without bleached hair first. The way that it catches the light looks amazing too and makes a nice change from the usual brown to blonde ombré.

I will say that because it is red, the dye does go everywhere but this could just be down to my clumsy ways. I didn't even do any of the dying process but ended up with red all over my hands and even my head, see what I mean about clumsy! Where I had my hair down after I had dyed it, a lot of the dye had transferred onto my neck overnight so I woke up the next day with a bright orange tint around my neck where my hair had fallen. This was a bit rubbish, but it came off really easily so just be careful!

If you are looking for a really easy way to ombré your hair, i really couldn't recommend this enough! I cannot find this online anywhere, but I managed to pick mine up from Boots!

sunday nails #55 - duck egg blue sparkle

I really wanted to do nail art for this weeks sunday nails, but seem to have misplaced my nail art brushes so haven't been able to! I think I may as well order a new set, as once something gets lost in my room I can never find it again, I must have fairies that steal things or something.

Instead I have opted for a subtle glittery effect on my ring finger using ciaté ferris wheel all over with a good few layers of ciaté party shoes on my ring finger.  I really like the sparkle of party shoes and think it adds a nice twinkly effect without being too over the top.

I hope you have a lovely rest of your Sunday!

MAC amplified creme lipstick - craving

mac amplified lipstick craving

mac craving

This Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a MAC voucher from Lewis, what a good egg! He said after the Saint Germain incident that he didn't want to choose anything for me, at risk of me hating it so opted for a voucher instead. The only thing about gift vouchers, is that they seem to burn a hole in my pocket. To the point that I even thought about running to Debenhams on my lunch break on boxing day, but eventually decided against it after seeing the volume of crazy people floating around. The next available opportunity I was out voucher spending and one of the things I picked up was MAC craving lipstick.

I have to say I am totally in love with this lipstick! Craving is described as having a 'burst of plum' although I find it comes across a lot pinker than I expect plum to be, but still has a nice berry undertone. This is perfect if you are looking for a nice winter shade that isn't too dark.

As it is an amplified finish it is very creamy to apply and amazingly pigmented too. The texture doesn't feel drying at all either which I love especially for a winter shade. My lips seem a lot plumper when this is on too, which is always a bonus!

I have to say I have been wearing this everyday since I purchased it, I think it has become a new winter favourite! Have you tried craving?

the 'would you rather' tag

A bit of a different post from me today. I haven't done a tag post in quite a while but the lovely Jacquelyn at The Little Scottish Corner tagged me to do the 'Would you rather?' post, so I thought I would give it a go!
1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lipglosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

Now this is a really hard one for me as I actually love any type of makeup and tend to mix it up on an everyday basis. I would probably end up losing the palettes and eyeshadows though as you can still create a nice overall look with the first option. Although saying that, the thought of losing my Naked palette pains me.

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

This is a tricky one for me as I am currently in the process of growing a short haircut out. Every now and again I feel a sudden urge to cut it all of again and really long hair tends to get on my nerves so I would probably go for cutting it off.

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I like to play around with either, but I am a big fan of MAC 'springsheen' blush so I would say coral.

4.) If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

I would like to say makeup, although I can't actually imagine how much makeup £1000 would buy! So the more sensible option is probably clothes.

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

I think I'm going to say eyeliner as lipstick. I think it would look really fun and I have a lovely shocking pink eyeliner that would make a perfect lipstick shade too.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I am the biggest MAC lover ever, although I have never been in a Sephora so would love to shop there too!

7.) Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One eyeshadow colour probably, as I could build upon it with different coloured eyeliners. See i'm using my initiative there!

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?

I really had to sit and think about this one! I would probably say summer clothes in winter as I would always turn the heating up and I hate feeling hot!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Hmmm. Bright nails perhaps? I never really tend to wear dark nails too much so would probably go for brights all year round.

10.) Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

I would probably give up my favourite eye product as I couldn't live without my MAC 'ronnie red' lipstick.

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

My hair has only just become long enough to throw into a messy bun, so I would probably say this as it keeps it out of my way nicely!

12.) Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?

This question was a bit of a no brainer for me, who knows what I would do if I could never paint my nails again, so I would have to say lipgloss!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

What a random question! I would have to say shave them off, as I don't think I could live with myself if I had to sharpie them on.

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

I honestly can't decide with this one, but if I really, really had to I would say nail polish. I could always stick false nails on!

I really hope you enjoyed this post, thanks again to Jacquelyn for tagging me you can find her lovely post here! If you have done, or want to do this post leave a link in the comments so I can read yours too!

maybelline master kajal liner - pitch black

maybelline master kajal khol liner pitch blackmaybelline master kajal liner pitch black review

As you may know, I love a good eyeliner and am always searching for a new colour or style. Working opposite Superdrug does not help me with this as I spend countless lunch breaks in there searching for new makeup, sorry bills! When I saw a poster in their window advertising maybelline's new master kajal eyeliner, I knew I had to try it. I went in and picked up this colour and Oriental Gold but left the blue shade behind as I don't tend to wear a lot of blue on my eyes.

Initially I was intrigued by the nib and the packaging as is it is really simple and looks like a giant marker pen/crayon. The bullet is really light to hold and the curved packaging means it is really easy to handle too.

maybelline master kajal khol liner
Maybelline Master Kajal Kohl Liner 'Pitch Black' £5.99 (available here!)

These eyeliners are extremely soft and creamy in texture and so easy to work with. I found that the length of the nib is slightly hard to manoeuvre, especially if you add a flick to your eyeliner. The packaging says to use the product sideways to avoid sharpening, which really makes adding a flick harder. I have to say I have been a bit naughty and used the point to add my flicks with this, but I'm not too sure how long the point will last with me using it this way if it can't be sharpened.

I found this could be smudged initially, but tends to dry quite quickly so if you like to smudge your liner you need to move fast. Once this is dry, it tends to last a good few hours without smudging at all. Although I found that the true boldness of the black starts to fade slightly after about 4-5 hours and you are left with somewhat of a dark grey colour. I like how using this sideways means you can create thin or thick lines depending on what look you are after too.

I do really like this eyeliner and have been using it everyday since I brought it. If you are a fan of soft eyeliners this makes a great alternative to liquid and isn't too expensive either.

maroon 5.

So on Saturday, I spent the day in London with my besties before we headed to the O2 in the evening to see Maroon 5. We gathered as we were in London, we would do a spot of shopping and using my amazing willpower I didn't actually spend a penny...go me!

louboutins selfridges
Obviously a trip to London isn't right without a Selfridges stop! Naturally I fell in love with a selection of Louboutin's that I don't think I will be affording anytime soon!

Trying to perfect a selfie when my camera is not playing ball.

The gig itself was actually amazing. I have been a huge fan of Maroon 5 for years and to actually see them live is a dream come true. Unfortunately the camera on my phone decided to break, so luckily i managed to nick a lot of the photos from Taran!

They were supported by PJ Morton and Robin Thicke. I had never heard of PJ Morton before, but it turns out he is the stand in keyboardist for Maroon 5 but has quite a pleasant voice too. I was wondering what Robin Thicke was going to fill an hour slot with but turns out he does sing a few more songs other than Blurred Lines ha!

I was seriously so excited to see Maroon 5 and they were amazingly good. Adam Levine is the best looking man ever...FACT and I think I may have fallen in love with him slightly. They sang a huge range of songs, new to old and they sound even better live than they do recorded. When they performed an acoustic version of 'She Will Be Loved' it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as it was so beautiful. Since the gig, I can't stop listening to them either..for me thats always a sign i've been to a good show!
