maybelline colorshow brocade nails - gilded rose

It's not until you have to try and match a certain colour, that you realise how many shades of said colour there are! This is exactly what happened to me when I was trying to match a shade of gold for my bridesmaid dress. Luckily it was my mum that saved the day and discovered this little gem whilst last minute shopping. I was starting to panic as every colour I picked up just seemed so wrong and for a nail varnish obsessive like me, the shade had to be perfect!

The shade itself is called Gilded Rose and is from the Maybelline color show brocades collection. It is a lovely muted gold glitter with bigger rosey pink glitter pieces dotted around. As it is so fine, this needs 3 coats before it becomes opaque.

All of the shades in this collection look amazing and they do seem to have the texture of brocade fabric which I love! The next shade I want to try is Amethyst Couture, a lovely black and purple mix.

I can't find anywhere to buy this currently online, but I managed to get mine from Boots, so it may be worth popping to your local store.

  1. What a pretty polish!! I am absolutely loving glitter atm, well anything shiny and I'm all over it. I hate how much of a bugger they are to get off though.

    1. That is definitely the only downfall of glitter, they are such a pain aren't they?!

  2. That is so pretty. You can always rely on mum to save the day,
