seascape island apothecary peppermint oil lip balm

I mentioned before how I love a lip balm, I tend to suffer from awfully dry lips. I think this is probably caused by the air conditioning where I work and it is such a pain so a balm is always needed. Trust me, my bag is full of them, I seem to forget I have one in there and add a new balm or lipstick daily and then wonder why my bag is so heavy! Once I managed to pull 5 lipsticks out in the space of a weekend, I suppose you can never be too prepared!

So when I was offered the chance to try a new lip balm, I jumped at the chance! Seascape Island Apothecary are a brand I have never really heard of before, but after reading that their products are made in the UK I got really excited. Anyone else get this patriotic about brands?

Firstly I must comment on the packaging, it is so pretty! I know some people may think 'its only a box' but the way the lid opened felt like I was opening a proper little present, I think the fact that it was covered in flowers won me over too haha!

The balm itself is really soft, slightly harder than vaseline but melts as soon as it touches the lips. Although the scent is peppermint, it reminds me of those butter mints that you can get from sweet shops, as it has a slight sugary scent to it. The other good thing about this balm is the fact that it is made from natural ingredients which is always a plus. The main ingredients here are Peppermint oil (obvs!) beeswax, honey and jojoba seed oil so it is good for you too. The balm isn't too greasy although it does take a good while to soak in. It has a really good staying power too, currently instead of using it in the day I have taken to putting it on after I have scrubbed my lips before bed to give it time to soak in. This tends to help a lot if I am going to wear a lipstick the next day as my lips are super soft in the morning!

If you are looking for a new lip balm or just a fan of peppermint scented products, this one is definitely worth a look, even for the packaging alone!
