20 random facts about me...

I have seen this tag popping up everywhere and love reading them, so decided to do one myself!

1. I love knitting/crochet.

2. As well as loving knitting, I have an unhealthy obsession with buying wool. The chunkier the better.

3. I really want a pug, as soon as me and Lewis move out we are getting one, probably before we even get a fridge. He promised!

4. I am such a fussy eater, the only meat I eat is chicken or bacon.

5. I still don't know what I want to be when I 'grow up' although growing up seems to be happening stupidly fast.

6. I love cats, not in a crazy cat lady way, although after number 1 I am starting to sound like it. I just think they are so cute, I am just an animal lover in general though.

7. I never use a big spoon, I use a teaspoon to eat everything, I physically can't eat with a big spoon, especially pudding.

8. I have to have my morning cup of tea or I can't function for the rest of the day. I must get this from my dad who has an unhealthy obsession with tea.

9. I can't walk in heels, as hard as I try I just can't do it. Within an hour, I have a sharp pain and physically can't hobble any further. Seriously not a good look, doesn't stop me buying them though!

10. I would love to live abroad, but I am such a homely girl within a week I would miss my mum and dad too much!

11. I eat with my cutlery 'the other way round' (fork in my right hand) even though I have done this forever, everyone always lays the table and forgets.

12. I have a terrible sense of direction, I can't go anywhere without good old Sean the Satnav.

13. I miss dressmaking way too much, I used to do it all the time but it is so hard to find time these days.

14. I'm scared of clowns, spiders and heights. Just your average phobias, although I have an irrational fear of lifts too, the thought of getting stuck sends shivers down my spine now.

15. Me and Lewis have to watch Nightmare Before Christmas before Christmas every year, its tradition.

16. I seriously love all kinds of music, from Glee to Slipknot. I honestly have the most random variety on my iPod.

17. I will wear make up no matter what, even if I am sitting at home all day I will still put it on. It makes me feel better and you never know when Russell Brand might come knocking on the door.

18. I want bright red hair so much!

19. I cannot leave the house without my phone, I end up feeling like I have lost a limb.

20. I hate being the centre of attention, I much prefer to fade into the background.

So there we have it, If you have done a post like this link it to me, I love reading them!

sunday nails #12 - aztec nails

Guess who is ill again..I don't know what it is, someone only needs to sneeze near me these days and I have a full on cold. Maybe its a blessing in disguise though, (somehow?!) as I have been able to mope and spend a little time doing some nail art, which I haven't been able to do in a while. I honestly forgot how relaxing it could be and and had so much fun just playing around.

For this weeks Sunday nails I opted for an Aztec theme. As a base I used nails inc. 'Wardour Mews' a two-tone pink with gold glitter in. The other colour I used for detailing was nails inc. 'Clifford Street' a smokey grey purple. I got this as part of the Midas Touch collection with 2 other nail varnishes, this was on offer on the nails inc. website recently for £10 so keep your eyes peeled!

I am so pleased with how this came out, I think all the colours really work well together. What does everyone think?

MAC powder blush 'springsheen'

Uh-Oh..I treated myself again, but this time it wasn't entirely my fault. The snow meant that I had to get a bus, which also meant I had to find something to do whilst waiting for the next bus! ;) Browsing Debenhams whilst waiting was definitely on the agenda, as I had a gift voucher from Christmas to spend in there anyway. I knew I wanted a new blusher ready for spring so swatched away until I found 'Springsheen' Sheertone Shimmer Blush.

MAC 'springsheen'  Sheertone Shimmer Blush £17.50
This blusher has a lovely peach tone to it, but isn't too in your face. Its perfect for that snowsunkissed glow as it has a slight shimmer to it. If you like a sheer coral toned look then this blusher is for you. The other thing I like about this blush is that it is buildable, so depending how vibrant you want the colour the more layers you can add.

It seems like MAC has done it again! Whic is your favourite MAC blusher?

snowy sunday

It has absolutely not stopped snowing here all day! It's still going now and doesn't look like its going to stop any time soon. For most of the day I have been wrapped up warm, but this afternoon I put my boots on and went for a little walk. Its easy to forget how beautiful snow is, despite all of the chaos that it seems to bring with it, it really does make everything look perfect. Here's a few of the pictures I took...

Are you enjoying the snow? Please post any links if you have any snowy posts, I love looking at them!

sunday nails #11 - nails inc. bling it on 'midnight'

A quick Sunday nails post, before I go and play in the snow! (Snowy post to follow, yes I am 5 years old ha!) I got this lovely set from Santa/my mum and just haven't had enough time to play with it, so I thought there was no better time than today! So today I have nails inc. bling it on 'midnight' to show you.

This set is so fun, you basically just roll your finger in the glitter when the nail varnish is wet and hey presto, done! I really like the longer pieces of glitter as they have a nice holo effect, would be nice to layer with different colours too!

Have you tried any of the Bling It On collection? I really want to try hologram next!

rose & co. lip balm 'cherry kiss'

This weather tends to make my lips really dry, so I went on the hunt for a new lip balm whilst shopping. I'm not going to lie, I hadn't really heard of Rose & Co. before, but whilst shopping I was drawn to a stand full of vintage packaging. I literally spent ages, smelling everything trying to decide which scent to go for. In the end I settled for 'Cherry Kiss' which is described as 'a rich cherry fragrance and a hint of red cherry colour', all I can say is OMG the smell is amazing!

The scent is a mix between cherry drops and cherry soothers, it's sweet but not sickly and just reminds me of old fashioned sweetie shops. As a balm it is really moisturising and perfect for layering under lipstick to stop dryness, although it does have a very faint hint of red to it so is just as nice on its own.
I have been browsing their website and couldn't help making a wishlist. These are a few of my favourites; 'Box of 6 Bath Fancies' these are so pretty, I don't even think I could bare to put them in the bath ha! 'Rose Water Cleanser' I love the smell of rose and can imagine it to be nice and refreshing as a cleanser.
Have you brought anything from Rose & Co. before? If not I highly recommend! What are your favourites?

lady gaga 'fame' eau de parfum

I'm not usually a fan of 'celebrity' perfumes, but as I love Lady Gaga this was one that I knew I needed to try. Lady Gaga 'Fame' is described as the first ever black Eau de Parfum, although it does spray out transparent. The black does look nice and Gothic in the bottle though, kind of like ink.

Lady Gaga 'Fame' Eau De Parfum £25
On first smell, this perfume has a very fruity hint to it, I'm presuming this is the apricot or honey which make it nice and sweet smelling. I've had this perfume for a little while now, but it has taken me this long to gather my thoughts about it. I personally really like the smell, I mean its not my beloved Jean Paul Gaultier but it is nice!  My only gripe is that it doesn't last that long on the skin at all, within an hour of spraying sadly all traces of the perfume were gone.

I would recommend this if you are a fan of sweet perfumes, but if your into darker smells I would steer clear.

Have you tried this perfume? What are your thoughts?

accessorize 4D nails 'lilac sorbet'

Well I did say when I showed you Accessorize 4D nails in Stardom (Post) that when I had a bit more time on my hands I would do a full Caviar manicure and good news my friends that time has come. This time I used another set from the 4D collection called lilac sorbet. This set has a baby pink nail varnish and the bobbles are a mix of pink, turquoise and coral shades. I applied the same way as my last post but this time to each nail!

Accessorize 4D nails 'lilac sorbet' £6
These are definitely the nails that I will be sporting throughout spring as the colours are gorgeous. Spring will also be a nice time to wear this as there shouldn't be a need for me to de-ice my car like recently which resulted in bobbles flying everywhere..bad times!

I brought mine from an Accessorize store, but you can also get them online via Superdrug where they are currently on offer for £3!

you gotta feel Berlin..

So yesterday I returned from my last minute trip to Berlin. It was so fun to basically book something and just go, even though I am paying for it with my lack of funds now haha! On the first day we went to Berlin zoo which was amazing!! It literally took hours to see everything, but was so worth the aching arms and legs afterwards. On the second day we went to see the Brandenburg Gate which was lovely, although it would not stop raining and poor Lewis didn't feel well so he didn't enjoy it as much as he could have! Here's a couple of photos for you to enjoy..

Eeeek!
I seriously had the most wonderful time away and feel all refreshed ready for the new year.

2013.

This year I have seen so many new years posts going around that I have decided to do one myself. I find it really hard to create goals for myself as I am absolutely awful at sticking to things (maybe that should be a goal?!), but hopefully if I make them do-able then I may just achieve them! I wanted to do this post earlier but it has taken me this long to actually decide to post this through fear of being a total flop and not doing anything! So here it goes..

Be more spontaneous - I always tend to find myself stuck in the same routine, so I have decided this year I am going to be more spontaneous. This can all be started off with a short trip out of the blue to Berlin with Lewis next week. Yay!

Laugh more - I know this sounds silly and if you know me, I definitely spend most of the day laughing, but on the flip side I also tend to worry a lot and let things get on top of me. I always seem to forget I'm only 21 and there's time for worrying later!

Treasure special moments - I think I have now started to learn not to let life pass me by and now embrace  special moments and not take them for granted. I really want this to continue into 2013.

Take more photos - I love photography, but I never seem to find time to take photos or I end up forgetting my camera, so this is a must. I need to capture those memories!

Save - I literally have 20p to my name and if I ever want to move out then some serious saving action needs to be going on. I think I need someone to distribute my money to me like pocket money, but hopefully I can find some willpower, we will see..

Spend more time blogging - This is an obvious one really, but I really love blogging and want to be a lot more creative with my blog.

Well that's it, I think these are all achievable :)

What are your goals for 2013?

l'oreal color riche lipstick 'feeric fuschia'

I hope everyone had an amazing time last night, however you were celebrating. I ended up having a drunken evening in with Lew, filled with pizza, disaronno and little big planet! (the best game ever!)

Anyway I just want to show you the lipstick I have been sporting over the festive period! I love red lipsticks a lot, although I am a little scared of them as they can be such a hard colour to get right. My mum actually gave me this lipstick, it came free in a gift set from boots, that was given away if you spent £15 or more on l'oreal. Now I am a sucker for free gifts, so mum spent and I got the freebie..everyones a winner!

l'oreal colour riche lipstick 'feeric fuschia'

This lipstick is beautiful, it has very tiny glittery sparkles within so catches the light perfectly. It glides on without dragging, although I found a lip liner to be a must to stop any bleeding. The colour itself, is like a deep cherry red, with blue undertones.

Unfortunately I can't find anywhere in the UK that sells this lipstick other than in this free gift. Although it is on the French l'oreal website, so hopefully it will be available here soon.
