happy halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! I don't usually think much of Halloween, I'm kind of like a Halloween Scrooge if you like. I love carving pumpkins and all that jazz, I just hate being scared so this definitely isn't my favourite time of year, but this time I couldn't not get excited with my 4 year old niece. All day she has been talking about trick or treating and we have been making paper ghosts etc. so it has definitely got me in the spirit! Which is why I have opted for a little bit of Halloween inspired nail art.

Base - nails inc. 'Chelsea' and nails inc. 'Bruton Street' (ring finger)
Skull - 17 Lasting Fix 'Mini Skirt'
Details - Models Own Nail Art Pen 'Black Night'
Topcoat - Barry M 'All in One Nail Paint'

The skull looks more cute than scary, but I don't mind! What do you lovelies think? :)

sugar skull halloween make up

Hello lovelies! This week has been so hectic, but I managed to fit in a sneaky little Halloween pub crawl yesterday and wanted to show you my make up! Skulls are one of my favourite things, especially Day of the Dead skulls. I love how you can take a somewhat 'scary' thing and twist it to make it feminine and pretty. I don't usually dress up or do anything for Halloween but me and the Mr wanted to make an effort for a change and besides it was a chance to go mad with a bit of make up!

Spooky Lighting!
Things I used:
Smithys Face Paint 'White' and 'Black'
           Barry M Wink Eyeliner 'Black'
Urban Decay Eyeshadow 'Gunmetal' and 'Black Dog'
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on pencil 'Electric', 'Covet' and 'Lucky'
           L'Oreal Rouge Caresse 'Fashionista Pink'

I had so much fun doing this! Would anyone be interested in me doing a tutorial for this look?

l'oreal rouge caresse 'aphrodite scarlet'

So lovelies, today I have the final lipstick in my l'oreal Rouge Caresse 'Travel Collection'. I have already swatched 'Fashionista Pink' and 'Impulsive Fuchsia' so today I have 'Aphrodite Scarlet'. I have to say that I saved this one until last deliberately. I was hoping it was going to be my favourite, best 'til last and all that!

I have to say I am slightly disappointed with this shade, looking at the lipstick itself I thought it would lean more towards the red scale, although it does come across as a pink. To me on the lips it ends up looking like a different colour altogether from the stick (trust me I even had to double check I had the right lipstick in my hand!) I do actually like the colour anyway, I just think because I didn't have a chance to swatch it made it more difficult to know what the final colour would be like :) Like the other lipsticks this has a nice balm feel to it, making the lips feel moisturised.

I think Impulsive Fuchsia is definitely my favourite of the three. Which one is your favourite?

l'oreal rouge caresse 'impulsive fuchsia'

As promised here is the second lipstick from the l'oreal Rouge Caresse 'Travel Collection'. My first post is here.

Today I have for you, Impulsive Fuchsia. Now I love a bright lipstick especially if it leans more towards a pink tone as opposed to an orange, so this is a perfect colour for me.

The colour itself is a nice hot pink with a cool blue tone to it. I really love it, with a simple winged eye liner it looks lovely. I don't think you can really go wrong with a bold lip, if you're keeping the eyes quite neutral. Like the other Rouge Caresse lipsticks I have tried it is nice and moisturising like a balm, but still really pigmented.

So far this is my favourite, but we will see if it is overtaken tomorrow when I look at the last lipstick in the trio 'Aphrodite Scarlet'

l'oreal rouge caresse 'fashionista pink'

Lets just say I have had such a hellish week, I won't go into details but work has been pretty crappy and so have most things in general. So I have kind of hidden myself away, waiting for everything to blow over. I have to say I have really missed blogging though and have decided I shouldn't let people stop me doing things that I love, so I am back! Anyway enough of my rant.. :)

Now the one thing I love about airports are the shops! Especially duty free and that is where you will usually find me before I am boarding a plane. I love how duty free seem to do gift sets that you never seem to be able to find anywhere else. I didn't have many euros left, but managed to spare enough to buy a l'oreal rouge caresse 'travel collection' set.

I couldn't decide which lipstick to try first, but in the end I decided to try out and swatch 'fashionista pink' a very pale rose pink.

This lipstick shows as a very milky, pale pink. The texture is lovely, like a balm but is still opaque enough to give a good colour pay off. For me the colour is slightly too pale, but I'm planning on mixing it with a slightly darker tone and using this as a base, I think this colour would really suit darker skin tones though. It would definitely go nicely with a smokey eye.

Tomorrow I will be showing you the second lipstick in this set 'Impulsive Fuschia'
