bourjois 'volume clubbing black jack' mascara

Usually when an item of make up runs out, I just go back to the same product as I know I can trust it! But I am trying to get out of this habit, so I can experience new brands and products that are out there. So when my Mascara ran out this week, shock, horror! I put this theory into practice and brought something completely different. I have heard mixed things about Bourjois Volume clubbing Black Jack mascara but wanted to try it for myself as everyone is varied and what some people may like others may hate and vice versa. I love thick, black, long, chunky lashes..spider lashes if you like. I know that this can usually be achieved with falsies but I really struggle to get them on and then once they are after a while they seem to really irritate my eyes. So I generally look for as close as I can get with a Mascara.

Now, as can be expected with British weather. The sun disappeared in the space of me taking a photo and putting my mascara on to take another, hence the sudden change of skin tone ha! This mascara really lengthens my lashes and adds a nice amount of volume. It contains 'light reflecting particles of gold' but by no means does it look sparkly or metallic, my eyes just looked more defined. I will definitely be repurchasing this.

What do you think?  Will you be trying this mascara?

la compagnie carabosse: fire gardens

I really need to share with you, where I went last night. The town where I live is holding a 10day festival of events, music etc. I don't usually go to these kind of things, but my boyfriend is working late nights all week and I didn't really have anything to do so I got dragged along by mum and dad. Honestly, I went in with quite an unbothered attitude as it was mum that really wanted to go. But my mind was instantly changed as soon as I went inside.

The MKIF is held at a local park, which is a perfect setting and the whole way is guided by flames and beacons and is a truly beautiful sight.

It was so lovely and the pictures really don't do it justice, in all honestly it felt like I had been abroad, so was a bit of a culture shock when I went back home haha! It was so peaceful and serene and definitely something different for a Sunday night!

I really recommend going to local festivals if you have any!

nails inc. 'glastonbury'

If you read my blog regularly, you will probably know that I am a huge fan of nails inc! So i'm going to show you the nail varnish that started this love affair off..

its called..'Glastonbury' and it was actually my mum that brought this as a little treat for herself. Little did she know that she would probably use it once before it got kidnapped into my nail varnish box!

This nail varnish sparkles so much in the light! When you look closely, you can see the flakes of purple, green and gold glitter. This combo I would definitely not have put together myself but it works so much! I suppose in a way this started off my love of glitter nail varnish too!

Have you tried a product that has made you instantly fall in love with a brand?

l'oreal rouge caresse lipstick 'tempting lilac'

Hello beauties, today I have a lovely little lipstick to show you. I picked this out as a quick buy on my lunch break. I have suddenly become really fond of lipsticks, I have always been a bit more of a gloss kind of girl, but I think there is such an amazing range of lipsticks out there that I can't not grow to like them!

I was debating what to go for and I noticed a 'buy one get one half price' offer on L'Oreal currently in Boots and as I was already buying  L'Oreal studio secrets anti-redness primer, damn my overly rosey face! my mind was kind of already made up which brand to go for. Tempted by the offers as usual...

As I wanted a lipstick I could use everyday I went for quite a neutral colour..'tempting lilac'.

This colour comes across as a nude brown with purple tones to it. Like I wanted the colour is a nice everyday shade that would suit a natural or even a smokey eye. Once applied it feels more like a balm than a lipstick, it made my lips feel really moisturised and didn't drag at all. I always wear vaseline or some sort of balm on my lips as they are always dry, so this is a nice replacement if I want a bit of colour too. Unlike a tinted balm, it is well pigmented so you get a nice bit of colour too :)

I really want to try 'cheeky magenta' next! Have you tried any of these shades?

NOTD - mermaid shimmer

So working 8 days in a row, with lots of angry/annoying sale shoppers thrown in has equalled one very tired me! But today I have had the day off and what did I do...sale shop ha! I can't get away from it, but there are some pretty good bargains out there and most of my wages have definitely been spent. It has also given me a bit of time to play around with my nails..

For today's nails I have combined 2 polishes that I have shown you before. As a base coat I used nails inc. 'albert place' a lovely sky blue. Then layered over the top, I used models own 'indian ocean' I love this polish but I wanted a colour underneath to give it a bit of a boost as it is very sheer.

These pictures are shown in sunlight I know, I actually managed to grab some here in the UK, which lasted 2 minutes! You can really see the pink glitter shine through and the blue underneath makes it really opaque :) This reminds me of a mermaids tail so much, hence the title!

Have you tried layering this nail varnish over any colours?
