sunday nails #9 - nails inc. bling it on tan leather & skulls

I hope everyone had a truly amazing Christmas! Mine was lovely, filled with mince pies, turkey and all sorts of festivities. Although my Christmas bubble was well and truly burst straight away after returning for a week of full time work, during dreaded sale time! I have just felt so busy and haven't even had any time to play with my Christmas presents, although I have managed to grab a few spare minutes to show you something I got that can be tied in with my Sunday nails post!

My lovely mum brought me a stupid amount of nail varnish, like I have said before she knows me too well! I love skulls as I mentioned before and this is literally like my 2 favourite things merged together!
Skulls + Nail Varnish =

Nails inc. Leather & Skulls comes in 2 colours, black and tan. The nail varnish is supposed to dry with a leather look finish and the set comes with 4 diamant√© skull embellishments to apply on top with the nail glue provided.

nails inc. Bling It On Tan Leather & Skulls £19
I love the skull embellishments so much, they are seriously cute I really can't stop looking at them. The only problem I found was that they seem really big, so the only nail they really fit on is my thumb, not that I mind too much, its just good to have options! The varnish itself dries very textured, the only way I can seem to describe it is like the effect you get when you dab a sponge on top of the wet nails to create that bobbled feel. The instructions do say to not use a topcoat which is probably a good idea, as I think this may get rid of the whole 'leather' effect.

Have you tried this set? What do you think?

sunday nails #8 - santa and friends!

So this is my last Christmas themed Sunday nails. I have enjoyed doing these so much and will definitely be doing monthly themes or something again in the future. I can't actually believe tomorrow is Christmas eve, seriously December has just flown. To me, as this is the last one, I had to do the most Christmassy nails that I could think of and obviously ol' Father Christmas had to be included. I started with him and then I added a few of his friends and the design just grew from there :)

Colours used: Nails inc. 'Lanesborough Place' (Gold), Nails inc. 'The Boltons' (Red), Nails inc. 'Culross Street' (Green), Nails inc. 'Elizabeth Street' (Pink), 17 Fast Finish 'Tigers Eye' (Brown), 17 Fast Finish 'Mini Skirt' (White), 17 Fast Finish 'Nightshade' Black
This is probably my last post before Christmas due to working and being stupidly busy. So I would like to say a HUGGGGGGGGGE...

Merry Christmas!!

I hope everyone receive's everything they want and has a nice and relaxing festive period!

nails inc. nail jewellery 'piccadilly arcade'

This is seriously the most Christmassy nail varnish I have ever seen! Sorry about the boldness I was just too excited ha! I was looking through my nail varnishes earlier and actually forgot I had this colour, how naughty! I was looking for a Christmas colour and 'Piccadilly Arcade' stuck out straight away, its like Christmas trees, tinsel, and lights all rolled into one!

Nails inc. Nail Jewellery - Piccadilly Arcade £11
Its so sparkly and absolutely perfect for Christmas! I am actually so glad I remembered I had this colour, it really won't be forgotten again any time soon!

If you want a striking colour this Christmas then Piccadilly Arcade is definitely for you.

barry m nail paint 'amethyst glitter'

Now I love a glitter nail varnish as I have mentioned before and Christmas is the ultimate time to wear glitter! At the minute Barry M has an amazing range of glitters out, if you love glitter as much as me they are really worth checking out! Today I have a varnish called 'Amethyst Glitter' to show you, this varnish is made up of gold, red, blue, purple and black flecks of glitter which together create a lovely rainbow effect.

I used 3 coats for a full on glitter experience, but it could easily be layered over another colour if you didn't want as much of a discoball effect. The pictures really don't do this varnish justice, it is so sparkly and festive, I'm in love!

sunday nails #7 - santa baby

If you follow me on instagram, you would already have seen this nail art! (Sorry for spoiling the surprise) I just couldn't contain my excitement after I finished it, that I shared it straight away. I knew this week I wanted to do something Santa themed and spent a while racking my brains to come up with an idea and here it is..

Jacket - nails inc. 'The Boltons'
Fur - 17 lasting fix 'Mini Skirt'
Buckle - nails inc 'Lanesborough Place'
Details - Models Own Nail Art Pen 'Black Night'
Topcoat - Barry M All In One Nail Paint
I had so much fun doing this nail art, it made me feel so festive! I used a variety of different nail art brushes and it was surprisingly easy to do. nails inc. 'The Boltons' is my absolute favourite red of all time, its the most Christmassy red I have ever seen and I seem to permanently have it on my nails throughout December!
Have you done any festive nail art? Post links in the comments section if you have, I would love to see it!

l'oreal rouge caresse 'rock 'n mauve'

So last week was works Christmas party which definitely meant that I needed a new lipstick! ;) I have had such good experiences with the rouge Caresse lipsticks that this was my go to product at such short notice (lunch break purchase!). You can read about the other colours I have tried here! I wanted a bold colour but not something too over the top, so I chose Rock 'n Mauve.

The colour itself is perfect, an in-between pinky and purple, although it does lean slightly more towards the purple. It is nice and vibrant and perfect for a night out, very moisturising too!

Are you a fan of this colour?

sunday nails #6 - rudolph the red nosed reindeer

I have been slightly MIA this week, everything has just been so hectic and its safe to say the stressy Christmas shoppers are out in force, which means by the time I get home I just want to sleep haha. I hope this explains my lack of blogging recently and hopefully I can find some of my motivation. Unfortunately I'm going to keep this post short too, as I have works Christmas party tonight! Yay!! so keeping up with the Christmas theme I have decided to attempt to paint Rudolph on my nails!

What do you think? :)
Have a lovely evening, as you are reading this I will probably be getting slightly drunk haha!

sunday nails #5 - let it snow!

As its now my favourite month of the year, Christmas festivities are now well and truly under way! The tree went up today whilst I was at work much to my annoyance, I have eaten about 100 mince pies already and have been praying for snow. Which means that this weeks Sunday nails had to have some sort of Christmas theme, obviously! Like I said I have been praying for snow, so here is my take on a snowy scene!

Base - 17 Lasting Fix 'Mini Skirt'
Details - Models Own Nail Art Pen 'Black Night' although I drew on the details with a few different nail art brushes.
Topcoat - Barry M 'All in one Nail Paint'
I am no expert at nail art, but this is my little attempt! Although I have to say after putting this on my nails, I felt even more festive..as if that's even possible ha. I had so much fun doing this, although it took a few coats of the white polish to get rid of any streaks, but the cute little snowman made it all worthwhile.

I have decided throughout the month of December, every Sunday Nails is going to be Christmas themed..yippee!

What does everyone think of my christmassy nails?

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas...

I mentioned before how much I love Christmas, so when pay day came yesterday I went slightly crazy with shopping. My original motive was to get most of my present shopping done, which I did..although most of the presents were for myself. I couldn't resist, every shop I went in there just seemed to be more items I fell in love with. I saw this jumper and I actually couldn't walk away from it, its the kind of jumper that even in May I will try to be wearing!

Christmas Pudding Jumper - River Island
DC Trainers - Schuh

I have wanted these DC's for a while now. I went through a stage of wearing trainers all of the time, to never wearing them at all. But in my heart the comfiness of skate trainers has always been there and lets face it they are the prettiest trainers ever!

Has anyone else ditched the Christmas shopping to treat themselves, or am I the only one?

sunday nails #4 - accessorize 4d nails 'stardom'

I have actually been so excited to try these out since I got them and I knew they had to be part of this weeks Sunday nails. I love the look of Caviar manicures as they are so unusual and wanted to attempt one myself. I chose Accessorize 4D nails 'Stardom' a set which includes a silver varnish, with a pot of blue, silver and black bobbles. To start with I was a bit unsure of how well it was going to work, but it was literally the easiest thing I have ever done. Just paint, tip the bobbles on and add a layer of topcoat, hey presto!

Base - Accessorize 4D 'Stardom'
Ring Finger - Bobbles included in set
Topcoat - Barry M 'All in One'
I only opted for one nail as I knew by the time I finished work half of the bobbles would be missing, which would drive me insane and result in me picking the whole lot off haha! The effect reminds me of the little sweeties that you get in Liquorice Allsorts and when I have a day off, I will do every nail and sit there like a princess not touching anything!

This set is available to buy from Accessorize here!

What do you think? Are you a fan of Caviar nails?

lush cream eyeshadow 'happiness'

I have always been a fan of Lush Cosmetics, but have never had a chance to try their makeup range. For me, I always just seem to get sidetracked by the bath bombs and soaps, so never really venture over to the makeup section. My lovely friend brought me an eyeshadow from Lush when I got engaged, It was part of a beautiful parcel and she said 'Happiness' was the right choice for the occasion! (cute right?!)

Lush Cream Eyeshadow 'Happiness' £14.50
Happiness is a nice, glowing golden eyeshadow which is perfect for autumn. The colour is so metallic it reminds me of liquid metal.

On its own this eyeshadow is a bit too pale for me, I definitely need a darker colour between my eye and a lighter eyeshadow so this is how I wore it...

I preferred wearing this eyeshadow with a layer of black as it added an extra depth of colour when I blinked. This eyeshadow lasted me all day, without having to touch it up at all and kept its metallic shimmer without fading.

I love the colour and I will definitely try another cream eyeshadow from Lush. What do you think?

sunday nails #3 - spots

Following on from last weeks stripe themed Sunday nails, the next obvious step for me was spots! I haven't really had a lot of spare time this week, hence not blogging too much but it was nice to actually sit down and do my nails properly. For this I used a dotting tool to do the dots obviously, ;) over 2 coats of nails inc. 'Shoreditch' and randomly scattered some dots all over the nails.

Base - nails inc. 'Shoreditch'
Dots - nails inc. 'Albert Place' and nails inc. 'Seven Dials'
Topcoat - Barry M 'All in one Nail Paint'

I really like all of the colours together, reminds me of an easter egg! Although it's probably not the right time of year for that haha!
